First off I love cash app, I just recently got the debit card with it and it has a “boost” function where you can get perks suck as 10% off chipotle or $1 off coffee.

I bought a couple bucks of Bitcoin a few days ago on cash app and withdrew it and now my account is closed and I can’t send or receive payments? I contacted support and they’re not giving me a reason at all. They’re just telling me I am banned from using the service? The hell did I do wrong?

Cash App is run by Twitter owner Jack Dorsey, so I’ve been expecting this to start happening regularly.

How much did you buy and what did you do with it? What kind of bank account did you have linked to the account?

Where did you withdraw your bitcoin to, if you don’t mind telling? They might be finicky with withdrawals to betting sites or sites affiliated with other uhm, “stuff”, or something?

is it better to buy bitcoin through the cash app and then transfer to Coinbase, will that avoid the high fees from Coinbase?

Or are you planning to use those bitcoin for buying altcoins? If so, Coinbase doesn’t care how you bought those bitcoins in your wallet.

Before you buy on cash app look at what they are selling btc for and what the market price in general is, cash app is usually higher so it’s not really a cheaper way to buy.

Don’t use Coinbase.

I currently hold zero bitcoin and definitely can’t afford a full one, but I was thinking that when my next check comes in I may use the cash app to buy a few hundred dollars worth and hold on to it to see if it goes up in value. I’ve never really bought or sold bitcoin so I was just curious if anyone on here has more experience with bitcoin on cash app?

Cash app is actually a pretty good onramp IMHO. Reasonable spread and can send to bitcoin to outside address pretty much instantly.

Anytime someone pays me for lunch or something with cash app I just convert it to bitcoin then send to my ledger hardware wallet.

Yep, If you’re just looking to hodl, watch and sell then it’s good. There’s a bug that I just ran into that still hasn’t been fixed and it’s enabling withdrawals or transferring to another exchange (I.e Coinbase) that isn’t working.
