Yes, you will receive two tax documents from Robinhood Crypto, LLC for your cryptocurrency trades. You will received both a .pdf and .csv of your consolidated Form 1099.

If you had any cryptocurrency holdings prior to and during a hard fork event that resulted in the creation of a new cryptocurrency, you may be entitled to and be credited one unit of the new cryptocurrency per unit of the cryptocurrency that was subject to the hard fork.  Any credit of the new cryptocurrency after the hard fork that you received in connection with the hard fork is not reported as a transaction in your Form 1099. However, subsequent sales of any cryptocurrency holdings credited to you as a result of a hard fork may be reported in your Form 1099.

First, we recommend updating to the latest version of the app for the 2019 tax season. We made changes to the app to improve the tax experience and we don’t want you to miss out on them.

Tax forms may be issued by up to three entities this year: Robinhood Securities, Robinhood Crypto, and Apex Clearing. Once you’ve navigated to the Tax Documents section of the app, you should see a list of your tax documents for this year.

The name of the issuing entity will be in the title of each document.

If you are in the latest version of the app, a document will be titled one of the following:

Your Form 1099 tax document will also have the name of entity that issued it on it. Look for “Apex Clearing,” “Robinhood Securities,” or “Robinhood Crypto” in the top, left corner of the first page of your Form 1099 to figure out who issued it.

Note: Please update to the latest version of the app for 2019 tax season. We made changes to the app to improve the tax experience and we don’t want you to miss out on them.

All of your tax documents will be ready February 15th. You may receive an email before then, but please wait until February 15th for Robinhood to confirm how many Form 1099 tax documents you have, if any. Please wait to file your taxes until February 15th.

“You can come back later to get this form.

If you already have a copy, you can enter this info by hand.

(103)”.

I’ve tried multiple times with no luck.

My only reason for choosing TurboTax was so I wouldn’t have to enter hundreds of transactions by hand. I wish they would tell me why the request fails.

“Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 400 ()”,”Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Unexpected end of JSON input at widget.js:1″

This seems a little sloppy for a company that’s handling the taxes of millions of people.

It sounds like Robinhood.com has not finalized the import function. This if from Robinhood.com:

We’re still fine tuning our integration with TurboTax to give you the best experience possible.

When trying to put crypto in last year it was a breeze.

This year is a complete nightmare.

I’m using the same steps by putting it in the premier download version.

Btw when I search cryptocurrency it takes me  nowhere.

I’ve tried using so many platforms and nothing worked.

Cointracking, form8949 website, robinhood crypto csv file.

I paid 100 bucks this year on software that does not work I paid multiple websites simply because it uses TurboTax now nobody wants to help me.

Anyone know what’s going on? I don’t even have 500 transactional.

Crypto I’m just really upset right now.

I am sorry that you have had these problems. For some reason , it is only the Premier online version that allows import of cryptocurrency.

While your document may be available at Robinhood, the option to import from Robinhood is currently projected to be available on February 20, 2018 according to the TurboTax screens.

By the way guy’s I did my taxes last year and I had a really small account. Rather than using TurboTax I found other much cheaper options that also included investments though they are a little more ‘manual’.

I used TaxAct last year which was around $10, so check that out if you need a cheaper option.

I typically use TaxACT for my taxes, and can import my previous year’s info (saves some time there).

I didn’t use Robinhood last year but used it this year.

Would it be arduous to use TaxACT if I have 200-300 trades in 25-35 stocks?

Skip to 5:45, or just don’t watch because its exactly what you’d expect.

Also, not available until Feb.

20.

What happens if you did not make much at all in the past year? Does that mean that I do not have to file?

If you are sent or given access to tax forms, you must file. Failing to do so is tax evasion.

TurboTax officially announced that they are offering support for Bitcoin and cryptocurrency tax reporting as a result of their partnership with crypto tax software company, CryptoTrader.Tax.

Within TurboTax, the premier, premier-live, self-employed, and self-employed live packages all have the ability to handle cryptocurrency tax reporting in tandem with CryptoTrader.Tax. This is a big deal for consumers who trade and transact with cryptocurrency as the tax reporting process for the digital asset can be challenging.

This article walks through the process of filing your cryptocurrency taxes with the online version of TurboTax. You can also watch the video below which demonstrates the same process.
